Tiffany Onyeiwu
Community Organizer
Tiffany Onyeiwu (oh-KNEE-who) is a 17-year-old junior from Meadville, PA. Her intimate ties with social justice and advocacy stem from being a Nigerian rooted, first-generation American, dark-skinned woman. After noticing the absence of representation in her community for her values, she became immersed in activism in politics. She started to seek change for a community that valued climate justice, rights for Black, Brown and Indigenous People of Color, LGBTQI+ rights, womxn’s rights the basic principle of equitable opportunity.
She believes that investing in a positive systemic change for your community begins with leading by your actions and words. So, she became a co-founder of the NWPA Green New Deal Coalition, a community organization, she exhibits the importance of ensuring a sustainable future for all through a collective. Tiffany, an outspoken individual, innovatively works to solve community issues with those around her. Together, they represent a progressive voice for solutions. In school she transitioned this voice to teach her peers about environmental justice and founded the club ECO People.
Tiffany is committed to the National Children’s Campaign because every issue pertaining to the American public will simultaneously affect America’s youth. She believes we must act with their interests in mind and give a voice to these youth. She believes that the prioritization of America’s youth is important because they are the leaders of the future. Furthermore, she believes that youth issues need to be highlighted so, through collaboration, there is an opportunity to sensibly solve these issues. It is essential that the youth receive a voice today to steward their vision of a beneficial American society tomorrow.
