Shenita Binns
Racial Justice Director
Both Ysrael Binns and her mother Shenita Binns are social justice activists, with an emphasis on pushing for equal rights and racial justice.
Shenita Binns is a proud native of Georgia, and has also been working as a federal employee for over a decade now. She has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, the New York Post, Ibraspal, and many other prominent media outlets for her activist efforts. Shenita is known worldwide for her strong advocacy and undeniable passion for social justice. She brings a wealth of advocacy knowledge to the organization, including her efforts advocating for children’s rights within the education system, acting as a Guardian Ad Litem in juvenile courts, marching at the March on Washington, and more recently, standing with the families of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Ahmad Arbury, Trayton Martin, and others in tribute to the Black Lives Matter Movement.
She often advocates alongside her children, one of whom is Ysrael Binns, also known as Yzzy. Yzzy may just be seven years old, but she is already seen as a major youth activist in her own rights. She has already attended multiple marches and is listed as the leader of a racial inequality and injustice march that was held in Washington D.C. last June.
