Lana Weidgenant
Lana is a proud Latina and immigrant from Brazil who was one of the main organizers in the initiative to bring the School Strikes for Climate movement to the United States and a co-organizer for the national DC strike that took place in front of the Capitol Building on March 15th, 2019. She currently serves as a Deputy Partnerships Director for Zero Hour, an Advisory Board Member at Plant Dining Partnerships, Senator in her university’s student government, and Co-President of a student organization called CARE (Compassion, Awareness, and Responsible Eating) that advocates against factory farming.
Lana has appeared on CGTN America’s Global Television Network, UN live global broadcast, the homepage of Change.org, and WAMU’s The Kojo Nnamdi Show, and has been featured in MTV News, Fox News, The New York Post, The Boston Globe, Washington Business Journal and more. She is leading the charge for major chains to offer plant-based accessibility in all communities, including a major victory in successfully pushing Dunkin’ to offer breakfast sandwiches made with plant-based sausage in all 9,000 United State locations, and has been involved in political advocacy on behalf of the issues she is passionate about for the past 2 years.
