Devin Del Palacio
Devin Del Palacio is a member of the Governing Board of the Tolleson Union High School District, covering the cities of Tolleson, Avondale, and Phoenix, Arizona. Devin was raised by a single mother, and due to financial situations, attended 8 different public schools while growing up. He was taught the value of hard work from a young age and raised to take positive action in his community. Seeking the opportunity to give back, Devin became a Community Organizer in 2012, working for the next few years to empower and register 34,000 minority voters in South and West Phoenix.
In 2014, Devin decided to run for a seat on the Tolleson Union High School District Governing Board. He won and immediately became the Vice President of the board. In his first 120 days in office, Devin worked to bring the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative to the Tolleson district, with the goal of creating positive educational and life outcomes for young men of color. Since then, Devin has worked to ensure that the Tolleson district becomes a safe and successful place for all students, by introducing policies and resolutions to support diverse students and to create new opportunities for students. In 2017, he championed the passage of the Tolleson Union High School Bond campaign, which was overwhelmingly approved by district voters. Currently, TUHSD is a growing district, constructing a new high school campus and expanding opportunities for west valley students.
Devin serves as Chairman of the Black Council for National School Board Association. He works to increase academic achievement for ethnic and racial minority groups and to support diverse school board members in their communities. Closer to home, he serves as the Chair of the Black Caucus of the Arizona School Boards Association and Vice President of NAACP for Arizona Chapter. Devin recently joined the Board of Young Voices for the Planet.
Devin lives in Avondale, Arizona with his fiancé Kim and his children Kaelon, daughter Ayana and baby girl Phoenix Juliana.
